The college years are a very important period of education. You will be surrounded by new people and new activities and go through a lot of changes. There’s no way to predict how your university experience will turn out for you. However, there are some things you can expect so that you’ll know what to prepare for in advance:

1) Make lifelong friends

You can expect to make loads of friends who may remain close even after graduation day. Even after decades, you’ll still be able to keep in touch with them.

It’s almost certain you’ll move to a new city for college, and that means you’ll need support from your new friends. They are the ones who can help you when transitioning into a new lifestyle. On the other hand, your old friends will be just as important as well. You can count on them in difficult times and when you need some old-time joys.

2) Handle stress effectively

You should also make sure that you eat well, especially after a stressful week. A healthy lifestyle contributes to good moods and better absorption of knowledge.

6) Make sure you enjoy living in the city

College is a great time to explore the local culture, especially in the city where you’re studying. There are so many places and things to do that it’s just not possible to see them all. So, if you have time left after your studies and your friends, make sure you hit the sights as well!

7) Be prepared to change majors

This is something that often turns into tragedy when suddenly a student finds himself/herself in need of changing their major. Don’t panic though; it happens more than we would like to think! It’s not something you can control. If this happens, and it will happen, just make sure you do this only once.

College will be one of the most exciting times in your life, but it can be a difficult time as well, especially due to the great changes you’ll go through. However, there are some things that you can count on: your friends, your major, and your body.
